Moores Rowland in the Asia Pacific (MRAP) successfully held its Annual Meeting and Working Group Meetings from September 4 to 6, 2022, at the Hilton Hanoi Opera, Vietnam

The event commenced with welcoming words from Leo Le Viet Tho, Managing Partner of CBS Legal, LLC.
Agenda Presentation
Following the opening remarks, Baudouin Coomans, Secretary General of MRAP, presented the meeting agenda, including: Introduction of attendees, A comprehensive report on the development and achievements of MRAP, A detailed finance report outlining the organization’s fiscal performance.
Keynote Talks and Presentations
Talk #1: Braindge Corporate Introduction & Cybersecurity
Representatives from Braindge Singapore Pte. Ltd., including Kiyotaka Uno (Founder) and Ngan Sye Tieng (Director), provided an introduction to their corporate services.
This was followed by a compelling talk on cybersecurity by Mervyn Cheah, Chief Marketing Officer. He emphasized the increasing importance of cybersecurity in all industries and discussed the role of the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) of Singapore in promoting stronger security measures. The presentation introduced a comprehensive cybersecurity framework model and explored a complex use-case study highlighting threats from both external hackers and internal vulnerabilities. Additionally, it was discussed how Braindge can assist Moores Rowland in education, advisory, and IT-related security matters.
Talk #2: Capital Market & Entrepreneurship
The second session featured Thomas O’Connor, Founder & CEO of GrowthHero and CEO of CVO Advisors, who delved into the capital market and entrepreneurship landscape in Vietnam. His talk focused on the rise of fintech startups and the emergence of new business ventures within the country. He provided insights into the opportunities and challenges faced by entrepreneurs and investors in Vietnam’s dynamic financial sector.
Talk #3: Cross-Border Work and Client Referrals
The final talk of the day addressed cross-border collaboration among MRAP participant firms. Discussions centered on strategies for promoting cross-border sales, client referrals, and best practices for centralizing or decentralizing these processes. Case studies were shared to illustrate successful partnerships, and strengths and weaknesses were analyzed in terms of technical and resource capabilities. The session concluded with a discussion on the role of the MRAP Secretariat in facilitating international collaboration.

The second day of the conference was dedicated to Working Group Meetings. Delegates divided into specialized groups to discuss key areas of interest, including: Audit; Accounting and Outsourcing; Tax.
These sessions provided a platform for industry professionals to exchange insights, share best practices, and collaborate on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their respective domains.
