Moores Rowland in the Asia Pacific (MRAP) successfully held its 2025 Working Group meetings from May 2nd in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, bringing together professionals from across the region for insightful discussions, strategic collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Participants were kindly hosted by Anthony Galliano, CEO of Moores Rowland (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., and Sarvinoz Nuritdinova, CEO of B2B Cambodia, whose warm hospitality contributed greatly to the event's success.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Friday, May 2nd: Welcome Dinner

The event opened with a warm welcome dinner at the host hotel, setting the stage for a productive weekend of discussions and networking among member firms and professionals in the region.

Saturday, May 3rd: Working Groups and Thought Leadership

The first full day of the event featured a series of focused Working Group Meetings across three core service lines:

  • Audit
  • Accounting & Outsourcing
  • Tax

These sessions provided a platform for peer exchange, regional updates, and the development of collaborative strategies.

The afternoon continued with two informative talks:

  • Paul Yang, CEO of SM Global Trust, shared insights on the Trust Sector in Cambodia, a growing area of interest in the region.
  • Casey Barnett, President of AMCHAM Cambodia and CEO of Camed Business School, discussed IFRS for SMEs, addressing practical implications for local and regional businesses.

The evening concluded with a casual dinner at the popular Khmer Surin restaurant, offering participants a taste of Cambodian cuisine and hospitality.

Sunday, May 4th: Country Insights and Economic Outlook

The final day featured high-level talks from distinguished Cambodian leaders and experts:

  • Baudouin Coomans, Secretary General of MRAP, provided organizational updates.
  • Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of International Trade, offered a macroeconomic overview and Cambodia’s role in global trade.
  • Arnaud Darc, Chairman & CEO of Thalias Hospitality Group, delivered a dynamic presentation on Cambodia’s Economic Landscape in 2025.
  • Christophe Forsinetti, CEO of OBOR Management, shared key insights into Cambodia’s Investment Landscape.

The conference officially closed late morning, but the weekend continued with enriching optional programs:

Afternoon visit to Sosoro Museum, exploring Cambodia’s monetary and economic history.

Monday, May 5th

Participants had the option to visit the local office of Moores Rowland (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., gaining a closer look at MRAP’s presence in the country.
